Biker dies in Gazipur road accident

A motorcyclist has died and a co-rider was injured after being hit by a vehicle on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Gazipur today.

They identified the victim as Billal Hossain (32), from the Gauripur the upazila of Mymensingh according to our local reporter.

Based on eyewitnesses and locals, the Officer-in-Charge (OC) from the Mauna Highway Police Station, Kamal Hossain, said that the Dhaka-bound motorbike was struck by a truck that was parked behind in the Gargaria Masterbari area on the highway at around 5:30am on the morning of today.

The cyclist passed away immediately, according to the OC in a statement, noting that the injured rider was transferred to an area hospital by locals.

The police have taken the vehicle, but drivers fled from the area. The body of the deceased has been stored in the station of police according to the OC confirmed.
